Ugh it feels like forever since I last posted! I have been slowly working on a new piece-emphasis on the SLOWLY part. I started a new job and I am also finishing up this semester in college so sadly I haven't been able to sculpt as much. :( But I am hoping to have a lot more free time soon! I am hankering to work on a bigger piece! Like Life-size! Wow! That would be a lot of clay! In the meantime you can check out some of my other work posted below!

Susqy High Kids!

As my first High School Reunion approaches I started to think about all the unique characters I went to school with. That gave me the idea that I should do a series of art dolls based on them. Now if you went to Susqy High please no hate mail! They are LOOSELY based on characters I went to school with! :)

My first in the series is my best guy friend Brian. Brian is an artist that lives in NYC working as an animator. I have included his "now" pic in this post because he is my bestest friend so I can get away with it!  Hope he likes himself in Imagikal Land!

To purchase Brian(I'm sure he LOVES that!) please stop by my etsy shop here!

In perusing the internet the other day I came across a great site/blog for Art Doll artists. They do all sorts of artsy, fun challenges that I can't wait to be a part of! I think that the commodore of these artists is so cool!  So of course I signed up! Check out the site here:

These artists are extremely talented and creative! I hope I learn lots being in their presence!

Mouse in the House!

I live in an old house so when winter rolls around there's always a mouse or two coming in to get warm. It always makes me laugh when the mouse outsmarts the trap setter! The cheese is gone but no mouse to be found! I don't like killing things anyway.  So I imagined what our little resident may look like under our sink eating the cheese all happy for a free meal.
Mouse is available for purchase here

Scrap.

Look I found in my studio this morning! Meet Scrap.  Do you ever wonder where that other sock went? Did the washer eat it?! No! It was Scrap.  Scrap is a scavenger- thief that "borrows" things around the house for his own little uses. Scrap has been caught!  I wonder what he's up to with that penny, half eaten cookie and half a crayon?

Scrap was so fun to make! I think because I just loved the concept that there was this cute little character stealing things around my house and that's why I couldn't find them!

Scrap can be yours by visiting my etsy shop!  C'mon ya know you want an excuse for those lost car keys! :)

Well here I am! My first blog!  So let's get right to it. Here's the first sculpture-art doll for the very first post.  Meet Petunia.
I made her last fall when the onset of winter was looming over my little town.

Petunia is the very last flower of summer, soon the snow will fall.
She is sad because all of her friends have returned to seed and soon she too must die so that
others may bloom in her place.  Poor little Petunia.

You can find Petunia in my etsy shop.
